Wrong Number

Someone is an idiot.

Someone, more specifically, who has a phone number that is clearly similar to mine. And this idiot, being completely unaware of what their phone number is, is giving my number out instead. The incoming calls have been crazy. I haven't actually had a chance to answer any of them as these individuals always seem to call when I'm in class, at work, or running an errand that requires me to interact with other people, preferably without my phone glued to my ear.

Last week I received phone call after phone call from the county hospital. Clearly someone at the hospital was trying to get ahold of someone but I'm fairly certain it wasn't me. I don't know anyone that works there and everyone in my life seems to be accounted for, so I highly doubt I know anyone who was a patient there. Part of me thought maybe it was a client from the firm, but the likelihood of any of them having my cell phone number is so unlikely that I dismissed that.

I have no idea who these people are calling - as they certainly don't leave me a voicemail- and as I have yet to answer the phone when they call I can't inform them their friend is an idiot. So until then I'm thinking about changing my voicemail greeting. Something along the lines of "Hello you have reached Daisy Duke. Anyone who isn't calling for Daisy needs to seriously consider the IQ of the person they are attempting to call and re-evaluate if they are a necessary figure in their life. Unless you are trying to call your baby daddy, and in that case, let me suggest a good attorney. Ciao baby."
