My Bags Are Packed

Lately I've been attacked by an anonymous commentor, the majority of which I've let go unpublished. I'm not sure if there is just one cowardly person who has made up a few anonymous identities, or if there really are a few haters out there that enjoy stopping by to name-call and judge.

Regardless, the messages have taken a new tone, as you can see by the latest comment in my last post.

Comments like that are harmful, offensive and downright threatening. I consider someone posting under the name "Ripper" who repeatedly calls me sexually derogatory names and informs me he's going to find out who I am a direct threat against my personal safety.

This blog is a small corner of the internet for me to write and somehow along the way I've found a few followers who for whatever reason, enjoy popping in to read about my fairly mundane day to day life. To others, it becomes an open page from which to judge and harrass. Normally I'm fine with just rejecting the comments, but this new, uglier side just isn't fun at all.

So, until I decide what to do- switch to another host that allows me to block certain IP addresses, make the blog private so those who want to read have to log in, remove the ability to comment all together, or blogger helps me take some action against these threats- I'm taking a blogging vacation. I'm packing the sunscreen as we speak.

Ciao!

xoxo-

Daisy

I read your blog a lot but have never commented before. I am a fellow law student and it's nice to read a lighthearted version of the stresses that we all face. I hope that the sad, pathetic psycho quits the crazy comments and you can go back to blogging soon.

I have to agree with what anonymous said. As a friend of The Wayward Esquire's, I generally enjoy reading your blog so I know that the first year of law school isn't the only one that completely sucks. I believe you and I also met when I was in Chicago back in August, but I'm not entirely sure. When I asked the Esquire about that last time he was in Detroit, I was mildly-to-heavily intoxicated.

Anyways, cheers, and as 311 says:

"fuck the naysayers 'cuz they don't mean a thing"

I don't seem to recall "running out of the bar," though I remember someone else that was at our table doing that. Don't remember his name though. I remember having to leave to catch the last train out to the suburbs where I was staying, but beer and bourbon tend to lead to fuzzy memories

I just had my civ pro exam. I think it would have been more fun to pull all my teeth out by myself with a pair of vice grips.

Cheers

Hofstra, Madison, or "verizon.net"? Both spend an extraordinary amount of time at mine. I don't know how the verizon.net person got into it and I don't know anyone with that ISP. Madison came from Namby Pamby. No idea about Hofstra. What does your listing say? Do you know this person?

Cuh-razy! Geez, what the hell is the matter with people?

Can't wait 'til you're back. I *think* we are from the same hometown, so I love to read about your trips back home (and all your other posts!).

I am pretty sure I was getting comments and emails from the same guy. Calling me a whore and threatening to "expose" me. I ignored him and didn't post any of his comments and they seemed to go away. But he is the reason moderation was turned on for my site.
